Activity directors can be found in many different environments, but the job is commonly seen in hospitals, as directors for patient activities, or in schools, as directors of student activities. If you are an activity director in one of these environments, you spend a considerable amount of time preparing for activities, and setting up dcor such as centerpieces may be one of your tasks at hand. Learning some easy-to-make centerpieces for activities can help make your job a little easier.
Instructions
Hospital Activity Director
- 1
Wipe down your vase with a clean rag and some window cleaner to remove any dust or dirt that might be on it.
2Begin wrapping gauze around the vase from the bottom, spiraling up to the top of your vase. Secure the gauze at the top of the vase by applying a small dot of glue to the end of the gauze.
3Repeat the previous step with another piece of medical gauze, secure it, and then repeat one more time. You want your vase to end up looking like a medical cast when you're done, so depending on its size, you may need to add more layers.
4Fill the vase with flowers; use white flowers to match white gauze, or use flowers in a contrasting color, such as red roses.
School Activity Director
- 5
Wipe down your vase with a clean rag and some window cleaner to remove any dust or dirt that might be on it.
6Apply super glue down the length of one side of a number 2 pencil. Adhere the pencil, eraser side up, lengthwise against your vase.
7Repeat the previous step with another pencil, applying it right next to the first pencil you glued to the vase. Continue gluing pencils all the way around. Let the vase sit for 15 minutes to allow the super glue to fully harden.
8Fill the vase with flowers or, even better, erasers that guests can take home as souvenirs.
