PhotoMix is a photo-editing software that specializes in the creation of boarders and framing placements around images. This allows you to customize your own greeting cards, announcements and fliers, without using a large scale, expensive program (PhotoMix is available for free download and the full version is $29.00 as of May 2010). It is also possible to change the overall shape of your image to anything ranging from an oval to a star. Once you have changed the look of your image you may use the picture either in a different program or in a new project in PhotoMix.
Instructions
- 1
Launch PhotoMix (click "Start," "All Programs" and choose "PhotoMix").
2Select "File," "Open" and choose an image you want to edit and click "OK." The picture loads onto the PhotoMix screen.
3Select the shape tool on the side of the screen. A list of different shapes appears from a pull-down menu. Click "Oval" from the available shapes, then click-and-drag your mouse cursor over the picture. The further you drag the larger the oval shape becomes. This highlights the area inside the created oval.
4Click the area outside of the oval and press "Delete." The content not seen inside the oval is removed, leaving you just with an oval picture inside PhotoMix. Save the document by clicking "File," "Save As," then choose the location you want to save the file to and click "OK."
